Birds singing, butterflies waking up to the opening freshly-bloomed and dewy flowers, while all the woodland creatures wake up to a crisp new morning awakening to a brand new season. That transitioning window between Summer and fall, right before the leaves start to turn, the freshness and coolness of the first chill of Autumn fills your lungs and all the smells in the air start to change. This is what I think of when I think of the word CRISP.
In this challenge I really wanted to capture that coziness one would feel during this time of year. Being an early bird, waking up to go take care of the horses I enjoy this time of day the most during this time of the season. It’s the perfect time, not too cold yet, not too hot or humid, warm enough for the butterflies to be out and the colors of summer to still last, but cool enough to be comfortable and enjoying nature. I wanted to capture this feel in a more traditional style using acrylic on canvas!
